Having completed her Master's degree at the University of Ottawa last spring, Anne is as enchanted by the cello as ever. She has cultivated a unique style of playing, having assimilated cello tidbits from Harold Birston, Eric Wilson (University of British Columbia), Joseph Elworthy (Vancouver Academy of Music), Paul Marleyn (University of Ottawa), Shauna Rolston, Tom Wiebe, Carole Sirois, and Brian Manker, among others.
Anne is an avid classical music performer. Over the past few years, she has played as principal cellist in the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Ottawa, and has played under many eminent conductors including Bramwell Tovey, Andrey Boreyko, Bruce Dunn, David Agler, Bruce Pullan, and Giorgio Magnanensi.
Anne's cello-playing is in demand in non-classical musical spheres as well. Proficient on both the acoustic and electric cellos, she has performed on stage with a diverse array of artists including Canadian rockers The Tea Party, jazzers André Lachance and JP Carter, ukulele star James Hill, singer Holly Cole, and hip-hop star Kanye West. She has also performed with various Canadian-based singer/songwriters including Ian Tamblyn, Ember Swift, and Emaline Delapaix.

Anne also enjoys writing original music for the cello; she strives to compose for a diversity of settings and styles. Her list of works includes various cello quartets, solo cello works and the original score to Théâtre la seizième's 2002 production of Cendres de cailloux. Anne is also intrigued by cross-arts collaborations, having a special preoccupation with uniting cello and modern dance. Her one-woman show, Outside the Music Box, was premiered in Ottawa last July. Anne is also an experienced and respected cello teacher. She has recently relocated to Nova Scotia, where she teaches private cello lessons in the Halifax and Truro areas to students of all ages. For more information about lessons, please click here.
